Hideki Technology leads the world in a variety of devices that blur the line between flesh and circuits. Brain-machine interfaces, virtual and augmented reality, bioinformatics, Hideki Tech has innovative devices for each. Their latest device, the Ascend, is poised to usher in a new wave of telepresence: somebody wears the Ascend, which is a full-face mask with a screen on the outside and cameras along the edge. When wearing the mask, someone else's face appears on the screen, and the wearer's body is controlled from afar by the remote user. Using this technology, a user can be present in a room in a way that video conferencing and virtual reality just can't achieve--someone can interact with other people halfway on the other side of the world, even reach out and touch them! And, of course, the possibilities of being able to remotely borrow a body are endless... the wearer feels everything broadcast from the remote body into their own headset, and they can be nearly anybody, as long as that anybody wears the remote control mask. They have full control over the remote body from the neck down, as long as the Ascend has enough battery life remaining! Now, a long-distance relationship certainly could get interesting...

However... magic is a vast subject, and mystical effects and side-effects are still being studied. When a spell is cast successfully, Zorina Heights doctors know how to treat the impacts quickly and efficiently. But spells can go wrong in countless ways by uttering one wrong word, moving a wand too soon, trying to substitute a potion ingredient. Those victims are studied in the 'Magical Misfire' ward, and their effects range from silly to serious. As much as the doctors try to inspire hope in everyone in this ward, there is always the chance that some of these patients may never revert to how they once were.

Each evening the person must choose a curse to affect the opposite sex. Curse names can be obvious or cryptic in nature. 2. These affects are cumulative, and will stack on top of each other. 3. The books can affect individuals to large populations. Depending on the story. 4. The books cannot be destroyed or damaged by any means. 5. There are thousands of curses within each book to pick. 6. If no curse is selected then a random one will be applied. And an additional curse will be applied to the party at fault. 7. The books stop only when someone surrenders. 8. The winning party must select up to half the curses placed on the losing party. These curses will become a permanent fixture. 9. The book does not affect anyone under the age of 18.
